Who we are
Nastasia is skilled in researching, advocating for and advancing human rights, with a focus on gender equality, climate justice, children’s rights, as well as economic and social rights such as the right to food. Trained on three continents as a human rights and gender equality jurist, she has spent the past 10 years committing her expertise and energy to the pursuit of gender justice and children’s rights with NGOs, community-based organizations, child rights networks, and academic institutions. She currently operates her consultancy practice, Ujasiri Human Rights providing high-quality advocacy, training and research services to a wide range of development actors at multiple levels. She is passionate about challenging intersectional injustice and supporting initiatives and activists. Nastasia is fluent in French, English, Spanish and speaks Kiswahili.

Team leader and research coordinator –- Leading a team of researchers to conduct a Feminist Participatory Action Research on the gendered impact of climate change, with a focus on adolescent girls in 10 West and Central Africa countries (especially Sahel) – literature review report, development of research tools, safeguarding, ethics application, selection of young women as co-researchers, coordination of the team, etc.

Update SIGI Gender Index (Ethiopia, Eritrea, The Gambia) – Conducting research in order to update the Social Institutions and Gender Index (SIGI) that measures discrimination against women in social institutions across 180 countries
Participatory and inclusive training on SRHR with 4 rightsholders groups (Training Manual and Co-facilitation of training in Nairobi) – drafting of training manual, facilitation of a 4-day training with 40+ participants (young women living with HIV, living with disability, from LGBTIQ community and from displaced communities) from Kenya, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Uganda, on gender-transformative advocacy methodologies, youth leadership and accountability.
